The aim of the Beauty Specialist programme is to educate students to fully understand the basic knowledge of manicure, pedicure, wax and skincare treatments. Students will learn skills in professionalism as related to Beauty Therapy and how to maintain a professional working relationship with clients and co-workers.

Individuals who:

• have an interest in health and skincare
• are looking to become a well-trained Beauty Specialist

Grade 10 (minimum 16 years of age) or an equivalent qualification or National Certificate (Vocational)

• Applied Anatomy and Physiology
• Professional Conduct and Hygiene
• Skincare
• Body Therapy
• Experiential learning

Students must complete 250 practical hours at a day spa or salon during the year of study in order to incorporate their theoretical knowledge with their practical knowledge within a safe working environment.
